3 September 2013: Torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) after a training accident in La Parva, Chile. The injury required surgery, and he was unable to compete at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi or for the 2013/14 Olympic season. Returned to racing in November 2014. (vecer.com, 8 Feb 2018)
