General Interest

ATHLETE REPRESENTATIVE
Was elected by his peers as an athlete representative to the International Ski Federation (FIS). "I’ve been somebody who has been critical of things in the past, and the thinking behind putting my name into the hat to be an athlete rep is, it’s all good and well to criticize things, but if you want to make a change you probably need to be actively involved and not just say 'This is rubbish, I’d do it some other way.' I figured if I do want to make a change, being an athlete rep is a good place to start.” (skiracing.com, 18 Feb 2020)

ENVIRONMENTAL ADVOCATE
He has been an active advocate for saving the environment. In 2019, he donated some of his podium prize money from Kranjska Gora and Soldeu to Protect Our Winters Switzerland. When he flew to Japan for a World Cup, he made a donation to Climeworks to offset his carbon footprint with the travel. (skiracing.com, 18 Feb 2020)

VALAIS SLALOM STARS
He is among a group of slalom racers who grew up in the Valais region of Switzerland, many very close in age, including Ramon Zenhauesern, Justin Murisier, Luca Aerni, Tanguy Nef - who all finished in the top-18 in the 2021 World Cup slalom standings.

FAMILY
Born in Switzerland to a British father and Scottish mother, both school teachers, and active recreational skiers. His father wanted to learn French, and then stayed in Switzerland because he liked it so much in Valais. Achieved citizenship so he could race for Switzerland.
