Photography, podcasting (Behind an Alpine skier: A podcast by Loic Meillard), food. (swiss-ski.ch; illustre.ch, 24 Feb 2021)

"I always liked photography. When I was younger, I used my parent's camera. Over the years, I have learned more and more things and have become more and more passionate. When you train every day, it's essential to have small moments where you can disconnect, think of something else. Photography plays that role. I take my camera and go for a walk outside. Sometimes I even take it with me on the slopes." (illustre.ch, 24 Feb 2021)

His parents introduced him to skiing at the age of two. At first, he didn't want to start competing because skiing for fun was perfect. But after trying one day at the ski club, he didn't want to stop. His parents would make the two-hour drive from their home in Neuchatel to the Valais region for skiing to support their children's ski racing. But at the age of 12, they moved to Heremence to be closer to skiing. "It’s since then that I have wanted to push my limits on the skis and always improve in order to reach the best level." (Athlete, 10 Nov 2021; loicmeillard.ch)

"I am very demanding and critical of myself, I try to improve myself on every detail. The praise, whether it comes from the media or from other skiers, is obviously nice, but I know it won't make me ski any faster. We must therefore not give it too much importance and, above all, not stop working." (illustre.ch, 24 Feb 2021)
