Husband Valon Behrami (Football): Swiss football midfielder, born in Kosovo, who plays for Genoa. Has been capped over 80 times at the international level by the Switzerland national team, playing at four FIFA World Cups, UEFA Euro 2008, and UEFA Euro 2016 since his debut in 2005.

Father Pauli Gut (Alpine skiing): Raced at a national level, and serves as head coach for her private team.

Brother Ian Gut (Alpine skiing): Competed for Switzerland at the Innsbruck 2012 Olympic Winter Games and 2016 Junior World Championships; for Liechtenstein at two World Championships (2019, 2021) and on the World Cup tour.

10 February 2017: Injured her left knee slalom training between runs of the Alpine combined at the World Championships in St. Moritz. Underwent surgery to repair a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and torn meniscus. Returned to racing in October 2017. (denverpost.com, 23 Feb 2017)

2008

:

Began skiing in the winter of 1992/93 when she was just one-and-a-half years old after she received skis from her aunt. She first practiced walking around the garden in the summer with the skis on her feet. Began international FIS races when she was 15, finishing second in her first FIS slalom in August 2006 and winning the Argentina national super-G title just days later. That same season, in February 2007, she won silver in downhill at the Junior World Championships, the Swiss national super-G title, and was second in the Europa Cup downhill standings. WEDDING OF THE YEAR
Was featured as having the 'wedding of the year' according to Swiss newspapers when she married football player Valon Behrami in July 2018. Their private ceremony was held in Lugano, Switzerland, before celebrating on the Monte Bre (a small mountain east of Lugano). (olympics.com, 8 Feb 2021)

LANGUAGES
Speaks multiple languages and is comfortable switching them up quickly in her interviews with foreign media. Her mother Gabriella is Italian and lived in the French-speaking town of Canton Giura. MOVIE
Played a skier named Chiara Merz in the movie 'Tutti giu' ('Everybody Sometimes Falls'), directed by Niccolo Castelli in 2012. The film, which featured at the Locarno International Film Festival and won the best picture award at the Kitzbuhel festival, follows the sporting journeys of three youngsters from Canton Ticino. OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES
Three-time medallist at the Olympic Winter Games. Won gold in super-G and bronze in giant slalom at Beijing 2022. Sochi 2014 downhill bronze medallist, 0.10 seconds behind shared gold medallists Tina Maze (SLO) and her countrywoman Dominique Gisin (SUI). Has a pair of Olympic fourth-place finishes in super-G (0.07 seconds from bronze in 2014, and 0.01 seconds behind in 2018).

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Eight-time World Championships medallist winning two gold in 2021 (super-G, giant slalom), three silver (2009 downhill and super combined, 2013 super-G), and three bronze (2015 and 2021 downhill, 2017 super-G).

Started her international career winning two Junior World Championship silver medals in the downhill (2007, 2008).

WORLD CUP
Made her first World Cup podium in February 2008 in the St. Moritz downhill (despite losing control of her skis in the final pitch). Later on the same track in December 2008, she had her first victory to become the youngest skier to win a super-G at 17 years and 237 days.

With over 300 World Cup starts, she has over 60 podiums and more than 30 victories (and counting).

Won the 2016 overall World Cup title and has taken the super-G globe three times (2014, 2016, 2021).
