Got involved in skiing and other sports when he was young discovering skiing in the mountain before the family moved to Bern when he was four. He grew up in the Les Barzettes club. "I was playing a lot of soccer (he was a goalkeeper) and skiing. And at the age of 14-15 had to choose one. I think it was the speed in skiing and the friends I had and, of course, the fun." (FIS.
