2010: Meniscus tear in his knee at the 2010 Junior World Championships in Chamonix and subsequent repair, at age 18. This had a big influence on his career every year after that. "Always seek to improve." (Athlete, 11 Jul 2021)

:

"As I've become more senior in my career, many aspects of my training have become very repetitive, simple, and boring. But it is the very simple and repetitive actions that have allowed me to be better at the parts of the sport that need me to be dynamic and adaptable." (Athlete, 11 Jul 2021)

Feels confident in his physical abilities, his equipment, and the team around him. "I think my biggest challenge will be the way I manage myself throughout the season, with energy/fatigue management, and belief in my skiing. Confidence and trust in your skiing go a long way and are easy when things are going well and difficult when they are not. Having and using the right tools to turn things around if they are not going how I want will be the keys to my season. And right now, I am confident that I have them and know how to use them." (banffnorquay.com, 11 Feb 2020)

:

Winning Canada's silver medal in the parallel team at the 2015 World Championships in Vail/Beaver Creek. (Athlete, 11 Jul 2021)

:

When he was a club athlete at Banff Alpine Racers, he remembers looking up to the Alberta Ski Team athletes. "They were bigger, stronger, and faster than me, and I wanted to get there. When I was on the Alberta Team, I saw the Canadian development team athletes as the next step and used them as my role models. Wherever you find that connection, I think it's good to use it to get ideas to improve yourself or confirm that certain things you are doing are effective." (banffnorquay.com, 11 Feb 2020)

:

His parents. "They were a perfect mix of competitiveness and overall well-being to push me but also always keep me grounded." (Athlete, 11 Jul 2021)

:

"There is no substitute for hard work. Smart work pays, as well, and the mental side of things is equally as important as the rest at the top level." (Athlete, 11 Jul 2021)
