November 2018: Dislocated left knee, torn ligaments, and torn patella tendon when he crashed in training at Nakiska Ski Resort, west of Calgary, AB. Did not return to on-snow training for nearly two years, coming back to ski racing in the 2020/21 season. (snowindustrynews.com, 14 Sep 2020)
24 February 2017: Tore his lateral collateral ligament, and sprained both media collateral ligaments when he crashed in the World Cup downhill in Kvitfjell. Avoided needing surgery, instead undergoing intense physical therapy. Returned to start the 2017/18 season and posted his career-best result in December 2017 finishing eighth in the Alpine combined in Bormio, his first time breaking into the World Cup top-10.
