April 2021: Right knee surgery to have a piece of bone removed that was causing some irritation on a tendon. Managed to finish the season but it made some races difficult. (then24.com, 30 May 2021)
January 2017: Serious left leg tibia fracture and knee injury (anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus tear) a result of a crash in the Adelboden World Cup giant slalom, and was evacuated by helicopter to the local hospital where the first of seven surgeries took place. His parents put him on skis at two and a half years old, taking him and his older sister to the Vosges mountains in eastern France on weekends. At seven he joined the Malmedy Ski Club, continuing to ski for fun, but progressing rapidly.
