Born in Vilnius, he moved to Switzerland at the age of 10 to live with his mother who had moved there to find work. They lived in the tiny village of Andermatt about two hours south of Lucerne, where the only thing that people did there was ski. Finishing 23rd in giant slalom at the 2021 World Championships in Cortina d'Ampezzo was the best finish ever at the event for a Lithuanian skier.
