Born in Steamboat Springs, CO to parents who were full-time ski coaches. "It was hard for them to carry me around and do their work, so they put me on skis before I could walk. It was easier for them to push me around that way." (usskiandsnowboard.org)
Winning three gold medals at the Lillehammer 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games.
"The Youth Olympic Games were definitely my coming out party. It was my first taste of international competition and big event success. It was the first time where I believed I could “make it” in ski racing. It was also just a special time in my life. I had a great time at the Youth Olympics. I made lifelong friends and memories for a lifetime." (snowindustrynews.com, 14 Oct 2019)
Basketball player Nikola Jokic (SRB), 2016 Olympic silver medallist. Plays center for the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). (Athlete, 16 Aug 2021)
Alpine skier Ted Ligety (USA), two-time Olympic and five-time World champion.
"Seriously though, Ted leads by example. When Ted steps on the hill there’s an aura of professionalism that you can feel. He takes his business dead serious in a way that makes you feel guilty if you take it less so. Him being there raises the game of everyone around." (Athlete, 16 Aug 2021; snowindustrynews.com, 14 Oct 2019)
Before the 2021/22 season he shaved and died his hair with snow leopard spots.
"This year going into Soelden I was inspired by American downhill great Chad Fleischer (1994, 1998 Olympian) who always was the snow leopard, he had it on his head and on his helmet. I like to do it at the beginning of the season as a reminder. I can take all of my results seriously. But at the end of the day, ski racing is just a game, it's a sport. It's my way of making sure I don't take myself too seriously." (SYNC Performance YouTube, 5 Nov 2021)
