November 2020: Compartment syndrome in his right thigh. In a surgical procedure, doctors drained blood from the impacted area. While he had initially planned to be out for just a short time, he missed the entire 2020/21 season, returning to racing in September 2021. (Instagram, 7 Nov 2020)
28 November 2019: Suffered ruptured anterior and lateral cruciate ligaments in his right knee as the result of a crash in the first official downhill training run for the Lake Louise World Cup. Underwent surgery and missed the remainder of the 2019/20 season. Returned to on-snow training the following summer but did not compete prior to his November 2020 compartment syndrome.
