January 2018: After returning to racing following two years of injury rehabilitation, she took a mental break in January 2018 after she saw her results drop and she became increasingly tired, deciding herself to end her 2017/18 season early. Returned to World Cup racing for the 2018/19 season. (nrk.no, 18 Feb 2021)

2016: Pinched nerve in her back sidelined her for the entire 2016/17 season. First noticed the back pain during a transit stop at Frankfurt airport after returning to Europe from the United States of America. Spent three days in a German hospital with debilitating pain. Was back training in February 2017 and returned to racing in August 2017 where she had left off two years earlier, winning a Australian New Zealand Cup giant slalom in Coronet Peak (NZL). (skiracing.com, 9 Oct 2017)

September 2015: Fractured her left leg in a training accident and suffered compartment syndrome, which resulted in five surgeries over two weeks. The injury came after strong results in August and September while racing in New Zealand, but ended her 2015/16 season. Was back training nine months later. (tellerreport.com, 18 Feb 2021)

General Interest

RETURN TO NEW ZEALAND
Just months after winning three Junior World Championships medals she suffered a training injury in New Zealand that led to a two-year break. Her very first race back was on the same course in New Zealand where she had left off with a win two years earlier, and she picked up another in August 2017. “The last time I raced was at the Winter Games NZ in 2015 on the same course. I love this hill, and it was very challenging today so it was good to get the win." (skiracing.com, 28 Aug 2017)

DRAWING
Her passion and talent for drawing have been an important distraction for her from the rigors of being an athlete. "It is very nice to have something to do when I am at home and at a gathering. It gives me one hundred percent relaxation, and I think that is just very healthy." (dagbladet.no, 4 Nov 2019)
