Brother Tobias Windingstad (Alpine skiing): Competed at the 2016 Junior World Championships. Made his World Cup debut in giant slalom in October 2021 in Soelden.

Injuries:

25 April 2017: Right wrist injury in a FIS super-G race at Hemsedal. His arm was put into a cast and was back to training shortly thereafter, and racing in Chile in September. (Instagram, 25 Apr 2017)

Memorable:

Winning the Alta Badia World Cup parallel giant slalom in December 2019.

Award:

Won the Sudtirol Cup for 2019/20 as the athlete with the most points in the four races in Italy's Sudtirol region including Val Gardena and Alta Badia. The COVID-19 global pandemic delayed the presentation, which was held online in August 2020, with the wooden sculpture trophy sent to him by mail. (insidethegames.biz, 16 Aug 2020)

Milestones

Won team parallel bronze at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.

Made his World Championships debut in 2015. His top World results are a pair of 13th place finishes in 2019 in Are (giant slalom, Alpine combined).

2014 Junior World Championships giant slalom bronze medallist (Jasna), with two other top-10 finishes (seventh in super combined, ninth in slalom).

First World Cup podium finish was second in the giant slalom in March 2019 (Kranjska Gora), and his first victory was in the parallel giant slalom in 2019 (Alta Badia).

Has two Europa Cup giant slalom victories. Was second in the 2015 Europa Cup giant slalom standings, and fifth overall.
