Brother Tobias Windingstad (Alpine skiing): Competed at the 2016 Junior World Championships. Made his World Cup debut in giant slalom in October 2021 in Soelden.

25 April 2017: Right wrist injury in a FIS super-G race at Hemsedal. His arm was put into a cast and was back to training shortly thereafter, and racing in Chile in September. (Instagram, 25 Apr 2017)
Winning the Alta Badia World Cup parallel giant slalom in December 2019.
Won the Sudtirol Cup for 2019/20 as the athlete with the most points in the four races in Italy's Sudtirol region including Val Gardena and Alta Badia.
