February 2021: Ankle injury a day after being named to ski giant slalom at the World Championships in Cortina d'Ampezzo, which ended her season. Came away from the injury preparing to continue towards the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. (Instagram, 5 Feb 2021; neveitalia.it, 5 Feb 2021)
November 2017: Torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her right knee when she crashed in the first downhill training run prior to the World Cup in Lake Louise. Was initially treated at the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital before flying back to Norway for surgery in mid-December. The injury took her out for the 2018 Olympic season. Across her career, she has suffered four anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears, a shoulder injury, ankle injury, and others. Despite that, she has continued to pursue the highest levels of the sport, while in consultation with former national team doctor Arne Kristian Aune. (nkr.no, 27 Oct 2019)

In September 2020 she spoke on a podcast about her experience with four major knee injuries and what it takes to come back. “You’re really nervous. You try the first run really slow. Then you start to turn and hopefully, it feels good. You’re nervous until you make a few turns.
