Growing up in New Hampshire in the United States, she began skiing at the age of three with her family, driving around 90 minutes every weekend to ski. Began to race at eight, training with a ski club at Gunstock in Guilford, New Hampshire. (Athlete, 28 May 2021)

After moving to Czech Republic, after growing up in the United States, she found it much easier to train on snow in the summer time. "It's easier to ski here in summer than in America, because you get in the car and you're on a glacier in Austria in a few hours. You have to fly everywhere in America." (isport.cz, 24 Oct 2018)
