29 December 2018: Left knee injury including a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), torn medial collateral ligament, and meniscus, from a hard crash through the safety nets in a World Cup super-G in Bormio. Had surgery in Austria with Dr. Christian Hoser and ended his 2018/19 season. Returned to racing in November 2019. (uneath.com, 29 Dec 2018)
