Fishing, music, basketball, slackline, kayaking, paddle boarding (reggae). (oesv.at; kurier.at, 11 Aug 2018; Instagram)
"When I go fishing I look to go somewhere in the nowhere where I can’t see anybody. It helps me stay humble and stay patient. It’s just connecting with the nature and getting away from all the stress in people.” (olympics.com)
Athlete
At age 10, he decided to commit himself as a ski racer and attended ski academies in Stams, Saalfelden and Neustift. (kurier.at, 11 Aug 2018; goalifyapp.com)
Son, Lio (born November 2019). Daughter, Laila (born August 2021).

National: Marko Pfeifer (AUT)
2007 FIS event in Tschagguns (Slalom - 55th)
2012 World Cup in Levi (Slalom - DNQ1)
2014: Disc problem, with continuing back issues. "I was certainly a little discouraged. Getting out of bed every day with pain, not sleeping very much and simply being incredibly limited in terms of everyday activities. That’s just not easy. During that time I was just thinking to myself that I should accept things as they are. My big motivation then was to return to a life free of pain as quickly as possible, to get back to my normal daily routine." (goalifyapp.com)
2010
His mother and aunt taught him to ski in a field next to their house eventually moving to a rope tow. His father took him skiing, usually in the backcountry, and not on traditional ski area slopes. (kurier.at, 11 Aug 2018)
Was his own greatest motivator and keeps himself moving forward. "I always just wanted to be the best, to be faster than anyone else. Also, I was always inspired by the idea of pushing myself to my upper limits. The thrill of always being on the edge, even if I fell or whatever, that was the most fun for me. Everything else was just boring." (goalifyapp.com)
"For me the goal is always the next race – everything else is just a dream. It is always my goal to ski all out and get as close as I can to my limits. What happens next also has a lot to do with luck. The main thing is that I gave 100% – then there is no defeat, it’s just more learning processes." (goalifyapp.com)
Alpine skier Marcel Hirscher (AUT), two-time Olympic and seven-time World champion. “I probably had more tears in my eyes than he had when he retired [2019], especially because he is the legend of skiing in the last years, or probably of all time. On one side, you have more options, on the other side you have more pressure, so it’s a little bit of both. We will definitely miss him.” (olympics.com)
"The goal is always the next race. I would just like to show what I can do. I want be close to my limit, and after the race is over I want to be able to say that I gave it 100% – hopefully, the good result is there too. Skiing at 100% will be what allows me to realize one, or even more, of my dreams one day." (goalifyapp.com)
